CONVENTIONAL         SEPTIC SYSTEM

A conventional system works with gravity and using the natural bacteria from your body to break down the sewage. The tank is separated into two compartments; the first one catches all of the solids, and the liquid waste moves on to the second one. The fluid moves from the tank to the drain field where it is absorbed into the soil.

The only maintenance required is to pump the tank every 5 years (recommended).
